Breast Imaging
Our Breast Health Center is fully equipped with
diagnostic
technologies, like a breast MRI and Ultrasound machines, to study any
areas of concern found during a mammogram, as well as equipment for
physicians to perform diagnostic procedures such as needle and
stereotactic breast biopsies.
Mammography
Digital mammography at St. Francis provides high-definition images that can be
magnified and adjusted to get the best possible view, adding confidence
to the interpretation. And because the images are available in just 10
seconds, patients can enjoy faster exams.
Breast Health Navigator
Our
Breast Health Navigator is available at no cost to patients who have mammogram results that indicate
breast cancer, as well as those whose results are
abnormal but non-cancerous. She offers emotional support to ensure our
patients know all of their options and understand exactly what to
expect during their testing and treatment.
Cancer Risk Screening Program
Our
Cancer Risk Screening Program (CRiSP) helps women with a family
history of breast cancer determine their risk for developing the
disease. St. Francis’ CRiSP is the only program of its kind in the Upstate, SC
area with
a Genetic Consultant who is
also an Advanced Oncology Certified Nurse, bringing vast knowledge and
years of experience to the program.
Multidisciplinary Team Meetings
At St. Francis, our
Multidisciplinary Team is led by the
Medical Director of the St. Francis Breast Health Center, and consists of surgeons, medical oncologists,
radiation oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, our Breast Health
Navigator and Genetic Counselor, and nurses who meet weekly to discuss
patients whose tests come back with a positive result for breast cancer. They
review each case as a team, agreeing upon the best course of treatment
prior to surgery. In effect, our patients receive a first, second and
third opinion all at the same time
… for free.
Lymphedema Care
We offer a
Lymphedema Care Program to support women who are managing
lymphedema issues associated with breast cancer treatment. The trained therapists
at ST. FRANCIS eastside in Greenville, SC provide monitored
exercise programs, wrapping and compression, lymph drainage massage and education
for at-home treatment.
