A special part of the St. Francis Breast Health Center are our Breast Health Navigators, who are available at no cost to patients who
have results that come back indicating cancer, as well as those that are abnormal
but non-cancerous. She offers emotional support and education to ensure our patients
know all of their options and understand exactly what to expect during their testing
and treatment.
For women who are diagnosed with breast cancer, the options, procedures, timelines
and appointments can seem confusing and overwhelming. Our navigators:
- Arrange and coordinates appointments for physician office visits, diagnostic testing, and surgery
- Ensure that our patients understand what is happening and why
- Coordinate referrals to community resources, such as support groups, social
services and financial aid
Our Breast Health Navigators are consistent points of contact for questions,
emotional
support, and referrals. They can help you work through the emotional issues intertwined
with difficult treatment decisions by listening, talking, and putting you in touch
with people who understand and know how to help.
St. Francis offers the services of our Breast Health Navigators at no cost to
any woman who is a patient of the St. Francis Breast Health Center. Outside referrals to St. Francis services from physician offices and hospital
staff are also accepted.
