St. Francis Sports Medicine is honored to have been chosen the exclusive Sports
Medicine provider for CESA. We pledge to provide the highest quality of care to
your child and are pleased to offer more sports medicine coverage than ever before. From all of us at St. Francis Sports Medicine, we wish you a healthy, successful
soccer season and look forward to building a relationship with your family this
year.
Injury Prevention and CareSt. Francis Sports Medicine provides complete care for your athlete, from programs
aimed to prevent common soccer injuries to exceptional sports medicine care from
certified athletic trainers on the sidelines and board-certified, fellowship-trained
physicians at the office. Our athletic trainers are dedicated exclusively to the care of CESA athletes and will be present at CESA games and practices, seven days a week – every day at MeSA and Wednesdays and weekends at Wenwood Soccer Complex. If your child experiences an injury on the field, look for our trainers in the green shirts. They can provide immediate treatment, give you advice for care at home, and can even get priority appointments with our orthopedic physicians. If a visit to the ER is needed, they provide call-ahead service to ensure your child is expected and seen as soon as possible. If a visit to a Sports Medicine physician is necessary, rest assured that your child is in the most qualified of hands. Our network of Sports Medicine physicians are certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and have completed fellowships in Sports Medicine. They are among the most experienced and well-respected orthopedic physicians in the Upstate. Learn more about our Sports Medicine Physician Network >> ACL ProgramUnfortunately, ACL injuries are all too common in soccer. Our certified athletic
trainers and physical therapists want to do all they can to prevent one of these
season-ending injuries. That’s why St. Francis Sports Medicine is offering an
optional ACL Injury Prevention Program for CESA athletes in grades 7-12. The program begins with an online video screening tool that shows parents what types of knee motions may lead to an ACL injury. ACL screenings by trained therapists also will be available throughout the CESA season. If parents, coaches or trainers find that their athlete’s mechanics need work, a six-week strengthening and mechanics program is available to decrease the risk of an ACL injury. After-Hours Care | 675-HURTWhile certified athletic trainers are always available to treat injuries at CESA
games and practices, sometimes injuries get worse once the athlete returns home.
Experienced help is just a phone call away at 675-HURT. Staffed by St. Francis
nurse practitioners, calling 675-HURT gets you advice for at-home treatment, priority
appointment times with orthopedic physicians, and even call-ahead ER service. What’s more, 675-HURT is available not only to CESA athletes, but to anyone who has a sports-related injury. Whether your athlete is injured during a game or you are injured during yard work, 675-HURT is here. Meet our TrainersSt. Francis Sports Medicine is pleased to provide two certified athletic trainers
