Joint Camp at St. Francis

The Joint Camp program at St. Francis is an option for select patients having elective hip or knee joint replacements. The program takes a group approach – patients go through the process of pre-surgical education, surgery, group physical therapy and discharge together. The goal of Joint Camp is quicker recovery and shorter hospital stays.
 

Program Features

  • Physicians, nurses, social workers, case managers, physical therapists and occupational therapists specializing in total joint care.
  • Private rooms with special recliners.
  • Emphasis on group physical therapy in addition to individualized care.
  • Occupational therapist to educate you on how assistive devices, joint protection, and energy conservation techniques can be used during activities of daily living (ADLs), work, and leisure activities.
  • Participation by family or friends who serve as 'coaches' in the recovery process. Coaches will even get a helpful guide and a special recognition pin.
  • Coordinated preoperative care, discharge planning and after surgery care.

Hip and Knee Pain Seminars
