Bon Secours Health System Takes Top Award from Practice GreenHealth
Bon Secours Health System is pleased to announce it has been selected as the winner of Practice GreenHealth’s 2014 System for Change Award for the fourth consecutive year. This environmental excellence award is bestowed upon health systems which have proven success in improving environmental performance and demonstrated dedication to a higher standard of sustainability. Practice GreenHealth is a national membership organization for health care facilities committed to environmentally responsible operations.
Local systems have also received awards for ecological stewardship. The following seven Bon Secours hospitals received the Top 25 Environmental Excellence Award, which is now Practice Greenhealth's highest honor for hospitals: Bon Secours Hospital, Baltimore, Maryland; Bon Secours Community Hospital, Port Jervis, New York; Bon Secours DePaul Medical Center, Norfolk, Virginia; Bon Secours Richmond Community Hospital, Richmond, Virginia; Bon Secours Memorial Regional Medical Center, Mechanicsville, Virginia; Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital-Downtown, Greenville, South Carolina; and Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital-Eastside, Greenville, South Carolina.
New this year, the Greenhealth Emerald Award is presented to facilities that demonstrate their sustainability programs are better developed. The following Bon Secours facilities received the Emerald Award: Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center, Suffern, New York; Saint Anthony Community Hospital, Warwick, New York; Bon Secours St. Francis Medical Center, Midlothian, Virginia; Bon Secours St. Mary's Hospital, Richmond, Virginia; Mary Immaculate Hospital, Newport News, Virginia, and Bon Secours Maria Manor Nursing Care and Rehabilitation Center, St. Petersburg, Florida.
