conditions & treatments
Common sports injuries and conditions that Sports Medicine physicians treat include:
Many athletes suffer from knee pain, usually due to a torn ACL or a torn meniscus. These cartilage tears hinder smooth movement in the knee joint and can cause knee pain.
Shoulder pain can be caused by a torn rotator cuff or from shoulder instability. Steriod injections or arthroscopic surgery can usually eliminate the shoulder pain.
Hip pain in athletes can be caused by torn cartiliage, or by impingement in the joint. Minimally invasive arthroscopic techniques now can be used in the hip to smooth the joint surfaces and reduce hip pain.
- Ankle Sprain
- Elbow Injuries
- Osgood Schlatter Condition
- De Quervain's Disease (Wrist Pain)
