At first, I had a lot of reservations about having this surgery. I asked Dr. Anderson what was the worst thing that happens to someone who has this surgery. He said they could die. Well that made me feel good. But after much prayer, I decided to do it.
I had the gastric bypass surgery on June 30, 2009. I had several health issues unrelated to the surgery that manifested after surgery. I must say Dr. Anderson is very dedicated, he ran all the tests to find any problems I could have had. I can honestly say if I were going to have a surgery today Dr. Anderson would do it.
I have lost 115 lbs in 7 months. I eat small meals and feel the best I have felt in years. I am not taking any medications for my diabetes or blood pressure. I have come off seven different meds and now only take cholesterol meds and vitamins. I expect the cholesterol meds to be gone soon. I can now walk long distances and not feel like I am going to die. I feel like I'm 25 years younger, I am not depressed anymore. I am doing things I have not done in years. If you asked me if I would do this surgery again, I would say "in a heart beat!"
