patient satisfaction
At St. Francis, customer feedback is very important in our effort to constantly meet the expectations of patients. If you, or someone you know, has been a patient recently, please share any suggestions that might improve our quality of care. Please indicate if you would like a response.
your rights
advance directives
In South Carolina, patients legally can let their families and health care professionals know their intentions if they are unable to speak for themselves by using advance directives called living wills and health care powers of attorney.
All patients are encouraged to complete an advance directive prior to entering the hospital, and bring a copy of this document with them to be placed on the medical record. The living will and health care power of attorney forms are available in both English and Spanish, free of charge, from the South Carolina Hospital Association, below as a PDF download, or by calling 864-255-1093. Our Patient Relations staff is available to assist you if you would like to execute this document.
spiritual care
interpreters
Interpreters are available for hearing impaired patients and for those for whom English is a second language. A TDD phone will be provided upon request for the Hearing Impaired. Language line phones are also available for non-English speaking patients. To request an Interpreter, call 864-449-7993 to reach the Patient Relations interpreter on call.
social work/case management
A medical social worker is available to all patients and their families, and offers free information and assistance in: coping with illness and hospitalization, locating resources available in the community (e.g., St. Francis HomeCare Meals on Wheels or medical equipment), and coordinating post-hospital care (e.g., nursing home placement, rehabilitation or assisted living)
