Wound Care



 
The Wound Care program at St. Francis provides treatment for hospital inpatients and outpatients. The program begins with a comprehensive evaluation to develop individualized treatment programs for a variety of diagnoses, including:
 
  • Burns
  • Cellulitis
  • Lower extremity ulcers including diabetic/neuropathic ulcers, venous insufficiency ulcers, and arterial ulcers (once arterial circulation is restored)
  • Post-amputee wound management
  • Post-surgical/post-traumatic wounds
  • Pressure ulcers
  • Other conditions that cause wounds

Wound Management Services

  • Various wound cleansing/debridement options (sharp, mechanical, enzymatic, autolytic, whirlpool, pulsavac)
  • Patient education and instruction for wound prevention and management.
