Wound Care
The Wound Care program at St. Francis provides treatment for hospital inpatients
and outpatients. The program begins with a comprehensive evaluation to develop
individualized treatment programs for a variety of diagnoses, including:
- Burns
- Cellulitis
- Lower extremity ulcers including diabetic/neuropathic ulcers, venous insufficiency
ulcers, and arterial ulcers (once arterial circulation is restored)
- Post-amputee wound management
- Post-surgical/post-traumatic wounds
- Pressure ulcers
- Other conditions that cause wounds
Wound Management Services
- Various wound cleansing/debridement options (sharp, mechanical, enzymatic, autolytic,
whirlpool, pulsavac)
- Patient education and instruction for wound prevention and management.
