Your Annual Mammogram

Unless recommended earlier by a physician, your first mammogram should be done between the ages of 35 and 40 and then every year after age 40. These helpful tips will help your mammography experience feel a little easier:

How To Schedule Your Appointment

  • Your physician must refer you for a mammogram. He/She will provide you a physician order form, also know as the Mammogram Referral Form, for you to bring to your appointment.
  • Call 864-255-1396 to schedule the date and time of your appointment.
  • If you like, you may also pre-register over the phone or via the online pre-registration form. This will save some time with paperwork when you arrive for your appointment.

When You Schedule Your Appointment

When you schedule your appointment, you can also be "pre-registered." Please have the following available to be able to answer questions:
  • Primary insurance information, including policy/ID numbers
  • Secondary insurance information, including policy/ID numbers
  • Emergency contact and phone number

What To Bring To Your Appointment

  • Your Mammogram Referral Form. If you do not have this physician order with you, the exam cannot be done.
  • Insurance Card
  • Picture ID
  • Previous mammogram films, if done at another facility. This will expedite the interpretation of your exam with St. Francis.

On The Day of Your Appointment

  • Do not use any powder, lotion, perfume, or oils on your upper body
  • Do not use any deodorant
  • Wear a two-piece outfit  for ease of changing
